Not a big accident, but enough to cause the bus to stop it's route. It was a bus we drove by so all of its passengers hopped on our bus.

Got invited to a tennis tournament - Legg Mason Tennis Classic. Not many people here. Perhaps as the day goes on... No big names playing (at least, none I know). Anyway, it's cool to actually be at a game. I've only ever seen them on TV. Hearing the announcer guy is fun. Some of the plays get kind of intense. I could only imagine how cool this would be at a big stadium with big players.

I'm too hot for this

I went to donate my sweet sexy blood today and I got turned away because I'm too hot. Yes, I am officially too hot. I didn't think that was possible.

All kidding aside, I was too hot by 0.1 degree. Which, makes sense, since I had just been outside and it was 102 degrees. You would think that the person testing me would have given me more time to cool down. Instead, she tested me once, walked away as she said, "I'll give you some time to cool down." She came back about a minute later and tested me again. She then said, "Still too hot. I can only test you twice." I asked, "Does that mean I can't give blood." She replied, "Yeah, sorry."

It would have been nice if she would have communicated with me a little better. But, I suppose they have a certain protocol? I mean, they can't take blood from someone who "might" be sick. A little common sense would have suggested that the 100+ degree weather outside might have been a problem.

Oh well. At least next time I'll know to chew on some ice cubes.

Flying solo

Well, today marks a special moment in my life - seeing a movie in a theater on my own. I've never done it before. I've talked to a lot of people about watching a movie on your own and it seems like I'm the only one that doesn't do it. So, I'm doing it now.

I probably could wait until I have a few more buddies here in DC. But, I've been looking forward to see this movie since the first time I saw the trailer. Besides, the people I do know have already seen it. And since I've only been here for about four days, I just don't have a plethora of peeps, yet. I thought maybe use it as a date activity. But, I'm pretty anti-movie-watching on a date (at least, during the first few dates). Maybe if the movie was a super awesome chick-flick then I'd think about it. But, the movie is "Inception."

Perhaps it's a good movie to see on my own anyway since I don't want to be distracted by some sexy cougar babe putting her hand on my leg.

I'm a big fan of sushi. This one tasted awesome and looked rad. Also got one little wanton served on a funny little wood plate. Good stuff.

Last day with Livingston's

My cousin Andrea, her husband Brett, and myself hung out this last weekend and it was an awesome time. We got a little food at the Cheesecake Factory and then we walked around this little park area in Edina called Centennial Lakes Park. I'm hoping that they eventually move toward the West Metro. Currently they live a million miles away in the East Metro. We don't get to hang out as much as we should.

Roosters and chickens

Just thought this picture was fun. Check out those roosters, being all macho in front of their ladies. Who's the cock of the walk? That's right, big fella, you are!

Gravity on angles

I had my car in the shop for a few days so I was driving around my motorcycle (as seen above). Normally I don't ride it too much. Not sure why. I think I'm just getting older and more cautious, and let's be honest, motorcycles are more enjoyable when you aren't cautious. Anyway, one of the days I was driving it I guess I thought I had put the kickstand down when I actually hadn't. I found out that motorcycles are really heavy once they reach a certain angle. Lucky for me I was able to get out from under it so no personal harm done, except for a slightly twisted finger that was sore for a day. I laughed when I saw it laying on the ground because you just don't get to see a motorcycle in the horizontal position everyday (unless you're a paramedic). I tried to lift it back up, but gosh, it was heavy. Finally I remembered to use my legs and I squat pressed it up without trouble. There were a couple scratch marks on the fairing but nothing horrible. All-in-all it was a gental touch down.

Since I'm leaving for DC in a few days I'll be putting the motorcycle into storage. I wish I could bring it out with me, but I don't want to trailer it behind my car. Nor do I want to deal with parking an extra vehicle. One of these days I should probably just sell it since I don't put that many miles on it. However, it is nice to have a second vehicle. And, it is pretty fun to cruise around on during a nice day. Although, a convertible would probably be more enjoyable since I don't do crazy bike stunts anymore (ya know, wheelies, stoppies, things Tom Cruise does in his movies, etc). Maybe one of these days I'll get another convertible. If only there was a perfect convertible sedan that existed and I could afford.

Ate at a cool restaurant with some of my MN homies. Great pizza. Even better was catching up with the boys. What was the place called? Al's Psycho Kitchen? I can't remember, something strange. Lot's of single people seemed to be hanging out there. I also saw the girl with the dragon tattoo - but not the movie. Not a pretty sight.

I'm feeling...

Not sure who drew this. Found it at my parent's place. Thought it was funny. The word usage makes me think a grown up made it. I mean, how many kids know the word "defenestrated"?
